However, as they pass over big cities on their way, they can become disoriented by bright artificial lights and skyglow, often causing them to collide with structures or windows. A simple way to prevent this tragedy is to dim the lights.

The Lights Out program works with cities and building managers to minimize light pollution during nighttime migration. By reducing unnecessary lighting during migration season, the growing international "Lights Out" movement is making an impact, saving birds 💙 while conserving energy ⚡ and lowering costs.
